What Story Will You Tell?
We all love a good story where the hero wins, love prevails, and everything falls neatly into place. But if we’re being honest, we also know that the best stories that stick with us, shape us, and truly move us are born out of struggle. They come from the chapters where things go wrong, plans are derailed, and we have no choice but to rise, rebuild, and reinvent. Change your story, change your truth, change your life.
We don’t like living those stories… but we love telling them, and that’s something worth noting.
The Myth of the Perfect Path
Wouldn’t it be great if everything worked out perfectly the first time? No roadblocks, no setbacks, just smooth sailing. Of course. But that’s not real life — not even in the fairy tales.
Life doesn’t always unfold the way we plan. It rarely does. And while we may crave certainty and ease, how we navigate the mess makes us who we are.
The Middle of the Mess
Some of the best stories of your life are being written right now — in the middle of your hardest chapters.
That’s a hard truth to accept when you’re knee-deep in uncertainty, heartbreak, or stress. But if you can pause, even for a moment, and reframe the discomfort… it changes everything.
What if there’s a purpose hidden in the chaos?
What if this moment is teaching you something you’ll need later?
Change Your Story By Teaching Your Brain
Our brains are wired for survival. They want us to retreat, find comfort, and return to what we know. But part of evolving is teaching your mind that you can survive and thrive in the unknown. You’ve made it through 100% of your hardest days so far. That means you can make it through this one, too.
Move with Intention
This isn’t about toxic positivity. It’s about intentional resilience. When you’re in the thick of it, ask yourself:
- What is this here to teach me?
- What part of me is being strengthened right now?
- Will this still matter in 5 days, 5 months, or 5 years?
These questions won’t take away the pain, but they will give it meaning to get through the hardest times.
The Power of Borrowed Belief
When you don’t believe in yourself, borrow someone else’s belief. Surround yourself with stories of people who’ve made it through. Talk to the friends who remind you what you’re made of. Listen to the podcasts, read the books, say the affirmations, whatever helps you hold on to the truth that this season is not forever.
And when you’re ready? Share the story you’ve lived because someone else might need to hear how you made it through.
Remember the SNAP Technique
In Episode 8 of my podcast, I shared a simple 4-step technique I call SNAP, a way to interrupt the spiral when you don’t know what to do next. If today feels like one of those days, go back and listen. It might be the grounding you need.
Your Story Is Still Being Written
Right now, you’re in a plot twist—a chapter you didn’t see coming. But the book isn’t over yet. You’re still here. Still standing and still turning pages.
So ask yourself:
What story am I going to tell about this time?
Because one day, you will tell it. Make it one worth sharing.
Let’s navigate change together, one degree at a time. Let’s do this!
